Weeding

Many common garden weeds in the UK have deep tap roots which can regrow from small splinters. This makes it essential that weeding is done properly or else you might simply be spreading the weed. Weeding thoroughly can be time consuming but pointless done any other way.

Planting

I offer planting within my maintenance rates if you wish to supply the plants. I also have accesses to wholesalers providing an extensive range of plants and can offer very competitive prices on large orders.

Hedge Trimming

I use battery powered rather than diesel tools so this work can be done quietly and very efficiently. As a general rule I recommend doing this late winter towards the end of the dormant season but quite often they need another trim if you like to keep them shapely.

Mulching

If there was just one thing you could do for your garden, it would be mulching, as it achieves so many ends.

Improve moisture retention and save water over the summer
Improve soil structure (which will improve drainage and nutrient availability)
Improve soil nutrition (essential for healthy growth and flowering)
Promote earth worms, mycelium and other beneficial micro-organisms (integral to plants rhizospheres and nutrition)
Prevent weeds from germinating
Help protect from frost

The best type of mulch to use will depend on the specifics of your garden and the primary purpose for which you want to mulch. I can advice on this.

To maximise the flower displays of your shrubs and perennials, correct pruning and deadheading is essential.

Sometimes all that’s needed is a tidy up to make things feel fresh and cared for.

I can remove green waste for a fee of £40 per tonne-size bag.
